Getty House Foundation wishes a most sincere thank you to everyone who applied for the Civic Education Grant in the 2011-2012 school year. This year was a success in that it elicited twice as many new and wonderfully civic minded ideas from LAUSD schools and educators as the previous school year. As a contributing member of Los Angeles society, Getty House Foundation is proud to lead by example. In light of these times of economic hardship where so many organizations and funding lines are being cut or cutout altogether, Getty House Foundation increased it’s financial support of - and commitment to - civic education and LAUSD schools.
The following schools are the Civic Education Grant winners from the 2011-2012 school year.
Students Studying Civics
- Carthay Center School
- Fenton Avenue Charter School
- Lanai Road Elementary School
- Los Feliz Charter School for the Arts
- Miles Magnet Center
- New Open World Academy
- Richland Avenue Elementary School
- Tom Bradley Elementary School
The Civic Education Grant process is now officially closed with Getty House Foundation. Please check back in Fall of the 2012-2013 school year for future funding opportunities.
